The walk is approximately 4 Miles and is moderately difficult due to the steepness of the climbs in some places. There are, however, excellent viewing points and lots of benches along the way.

1. From Marners Rock No.3, turn left and walk along the Esplanade, carry on through the town of Fowey to Caffa Mill car park.  Catch the car ferry across to Bodinnick. From the Bodinnick slipway, walk up the steep lane past The Old Ferry Inn. About 100 meters up the lane, there is a narrow footpath branching off to the right, signposted Hall Walk.
2. Follow the path to the Q Memorial. There is a steep path down to the water’s edge at Penleath Point that can serve as a diversionary route.
3. From the Q Memorial, the path runs along the top bank of Pont Pill. When you reach the end of the wooded section, there is a stile and kissing gate; continue along the field fence line on your right for a short distance before taking the right-hand gate back into the woods.
4. This path drops steeply and is rocky. There is a junction near the bottom of the path; turn right and continue down to the little hamlet of Pont.  Cross the wooden bridge to Pont Pill, walk up the path past some cottages on your right, and take the first path signed Polruan.
5. Follow the path uphill and through a gate into some fields. Continue along the top, cross a small lane and through another gate into woodland, follow the lower path all the way down to Polruan.
6. There is a pedestrian ferry that runs from Polruan Quay to Fowey.  Where the ferry lands in Fowey is dependent on the time of year and time of day. In the summer months, the ferry lands at Whitehouse Quay (where the Mevagissy ferry runs from), and after 5 pm and during the other seasons, the ferry lands at Town Quay.
